This pamphlet is intended to assist in the selection, design, safe operation and maintenance of chlorine vaporizer systems. It is limited to those who receive liquid chlorine in cylinders, ton containers, via pipeline, in cargo tanks or tank cars and who will vaporize liquid for ultimate use of the chlorine as a gas. It is not intended for chlorine processing systems such as reboilers and complex distribution systems.

Chlorine vaporizer systems can be purchased from equipment manufacturers or designed and built by the user. The design and operations of specific chlorine vaporizer systems may vary slightly, but should follow the guidelines contained in this pamphlet.
